It's turning to a yearly tradition for Whatsapp to say that they won't support some phones and this year they have announced that they would not support some phones after this year. Usually how this turns out is that Whatsapp would have a rethink and decide to extend support and there's a clause attached to it

According to the statement from WhatsApp, users on these outdated platforms will not be able to create new accounts, nor re-verify existing accounts once the company ends support.

BUT WHY IS WHATSAPP ENDING SUPPORT FOR THESE DEVICES
WhatsApp had extended support for both platforms in June this year.
