How To Flash Xiaomi Smartphone Devices - Step By Step Guide

Hey guys today am going to show you how to flash a xiaomi smartphone device, flashing can occur when your device get bricked or your trying to upgrade your device to a higher version. Flashing occurs when u need to do stuff like that, now.

Now before we begin, like we always say using of this tutorial is at owners risk and we wont be responsible for anything that happens to your device.

HOW DO I FLASH MY XIAOMI DEVICE?

If you are upgrading your device with this tool it is good to create a local backup of your device. to avoid loss of data files like photos,music,videos etc. because everything in the phone memory will be wiped off, performing a backup will also help to keep your old rom in case your trying to revert back.
Before we proceed please know that Your phones battery should be up to 20%

In other to create a backup of your installed rom, Go to backup Settings > Additional Settings > Backup & Reset > Local Backup > Backup
After the , it will be storebackup is completed, the location of the saved data will be inside internal storage > MIUI > Backup > All backup
For future purposes you can save it in your pc or your drive which ever is ok for you.

• You will need to download xiaomi flashtool and install in your pc, you can get this flashtool from HERE 
• Note: that this software has everything you need to flash xiaomi devices, all drivers will be install automatically
• Download the fastboot ROM of your device (If the extension of the ROM is .gz, rename it to .tgz)
• Extract the flashtool to a place where you can easily locate it.
• After extracting you will see a folder containing all the files needed for the flashing process.

• You will need to put your xiaomi smartphone device into fastboot mode by holding volume down + Power button.
• When its in fastboot mode, connect to PC with USB
• Launch MI Flash Tool
• Click Select button
• Navigate and select the folder containing the ROM of the device you want to flash then click OK
• A pop up will appear, click Browse button on Fastboot Script line
• Again, navigate to the ROM folder and select Flash_all.bat then click OK.

Now click Refresh button on MI Flash Tool so as to detect device connected.
At the bottom of the flash tool select the option that you want to perform after the flash or upgrade process is complete

• Clean all will wipe all data in the smartphone after flash which is recommended
• The second save user data keeps the current user data on the device after flash

After selecting your option, click the Flash button for the process to begin, after flashing is completed you will see something like “The operation completed successfully” like the image above. Thats it your device has been successfully flashed all you have to do is reboot your device. Also know that first boot usually takes a while so you have to chill and wait.
