The Asus ZenPad 3 8.0 is a very minimalistic device. It isn’t eye-catching at all, unlike the ZenFone 3 or the ZenBook 3. the ZenPad is easy to use with one hand. Its textured back also provides a better grip than the metal-clad and slippery iPad mini 4.

Powering this tablet is a Qualcomm hexa-core processor and 4GB of system memory. The ZenPad was quick to launch games like the racing title Asphalt Airborne 8 and the graphics looked good.
Asus has replaced the microUSB port with a new USB Type-C version for charging.Hidden under a flap are the microSIM and microSD card slots. The ZenPad also supports LTE speeds of up to 300Mbps. The glossy screen on the front is built to be scratch-resistant and the rear of the ZenPad 3 8.0 appears to be made of faux leather, which I loved since it doesn’t slip easily when you place it on a smooth surface.

The new tablet is called the ZenPad 3 8.0, and is basically a smaller version of the ZenPad 3S 10. It also acts as an alternative to the ZenPad Z8, which is only available to Verizon customers and has many of the same specs.
Connectivity-wise, there’s support for 4G and 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and a USB Type-C port. And on the storage front, a microSD slot allowing you to upgrade the base storage (16GB or 32GB) by a further 128GB, plus 5GB of Asus cloud storage (free forever) and 100GB of Google Drive space (free for two years).

Oh, and there’s a big battery too: 4680mAh, which Asus says is good for 11 hours of use per charge.
